Chapter 12. Visions and Challenges – Priorities for Professionals

Life is Amazing; Spread the Word!

As we leave our section on Organizational Foresight, and begin a very incomplete treatment of our last section, Global Foresight, it seems appropriate to say something inspirational at this point, to recap everything we are trying to accomplish in our evolving and developing practice. Can we do that in a single sentence? Perhaps not, but let’s try anyway.

How about:

Life is Amazing; Spread the Word!

Note that this is a compound sentence, with two parts.

The first goal of this Guide has been to help you recognize how truly special and fortunate we humans and our precious Earth are, and how incredible our future is going to be. The second goal is to inspire and motivate you to take that knowledge and do something undeniably and impressively positive with it, for yourself, your family, your organization, your species, and yes, your universe, to give back some of what you’ve been given as a human being. There are dangers and setbacks ahead, to be sure, but with courage and foresight, we are more than equipped to handle them. As we say at Futureworthy, most great ideas are free for the taking. We just need vision to see them, and good use of the Eight Skills and a little luck to make them real.

One of the easiest things you can do, which helps you internalize and validate what you’ve learned, is to share this Guide with others. All great journeys begin with simple steps.

We wish you the best in your journey, and can’t wait to meet you in tomorrow’s fantastically and progressively better future!
